Meet the Founder

Blessing Ibok-Omeziri is the founder and CEO of The Beecan Brand, the parent company for Beecan Foods. Having spent the early phase of her life in her birth country, Nigeria, Blessing developed nostalgia for Nigerian pastries when she moved to Canada a decade ago.

As a self-taught pastry chef who began baking for her family as a stress reliever, she soon decided to turn her hobby into a business. This desire became a full-blown passion to share her delicious recipes with other Nigerians/Africans in diaspora with similar cravings. She also extended her offer to non-Africans who love to explore different ethnic cuisines.

Our Story

It all started in 2020. With the lockdown in place, stepping out and getting your meals was hard. Businesses were locked. It was even harder to get African dishes.

So we decided to whip up hot meals that made us feel close to home. Once the recipes were perfected, we took them to the public. Since then, we’ve continued to improve our recipes to ensure our customers keep a smile on their faces.
